Santa Rosa, CA - Local outdoor retailer, Sports Basement, opened a new store in Santa Rosa on June 28th and will be hosting a Grand Opening on July 15th. The Santa Rosa store (located on1970 Santa Rosa Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95407), is the 8th store that the Bay Area company has opened and the first in the North Bay.

The Grand Opening will be hosted with partners including Scott Bikes, Osmo, and Asics. Sports Basement will be offering a 20% off discount on everything in the store as well as free sign ups for their loyalty program, the Basementeer program. 5% of profits made on their Grand Opening day will go towards Santa Rosa’s Nor Cal High School Cycling League. There will also be a run hosted by the local Galloway Training Group and a bike ride led by former pro cyclist, Freddie Rodriguez (known as Fast Freddie). Santa Rosa City Council will conclude the main events with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Sports Basement sells a variety of brand-name outdoor and sports gear. In addition to its curated products, stores also offer a variety of outdoor recreation rentals and services. The retail company sets itself apart not only with its recycled furniture and fixtures but also by working closely to support its communities. Each store, including Santa Rosa, provides free event space for local organizations.

“All of us at Sports Basement love being in our communities, whether we’re, running, hiking, playing sports, hanging out, volunteering,” said manager Dave Wark, “That’s why we create these community spaces and work to better our communities with our Basementeer program.”

The Basementeer program gives members a 10% discount on all of their purchases while giving 10% of profits to the local charity or school of their choice. The store is currently reaching out to Santa Rosa’s charities and schools to join the program. Santa Rosa customers can join the Basementeer program for free for a limited time.

With a strong customer base in the greater Bay Area, Sports Basement looks forward to serving and partnering with North Bay customers. In a community with an active outdoor lifestyle, Sports Basement promises to be an excellent addition to the Santa Rosa business community.
