In our minds, it's kind of weird if outdoor companies aren't prioritizing sustainable materials and production to manufacture their gear, so it's rare for us to do a double take when we hear about new technology in the sustainable apparel world. Picture makes us do a triple take.

At a time when the textile industry is responsible for 8% of the world’s carbon emissions and where the climate crisis has reached its peak, we all have our role to play to make a difference. Since Picture started in 2008, they have always sought to push one step further to minimize their impact on the environment. Their commitment to a sustainable, ethical, and environmentally-responsible approach covers every aspect of their business, from the supply chain, to manufacturing, to shipping their gear to your local Sports Basement. Let's take a closer look:

Lifetime Repair Warranty by Picture

Lifetime Repair Warranty

Repairs increase a product’s longevity, diminishing its overall impact on the environment. To provide this service, Picture has worked with repair centers since 2008. They do their best to repair the rips, tears, and other damages a product incurs when used, all for free.

Bio-sourced fabric by Picture

Sustainable Materials

Picture uses recycled polyester and sustainably sourced organic cotton, but even more interesting is their use of bio-sourced materials, which create a technical polyester fabric made with sustainably-sourced sugar cane waste or castor beans. Pretty neat.

Fair Wear certified by Picture

Fair Wear

Picture knows that sustainable materials aren't sustainable if the people making their clothes aren't treated fairly. They're a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, which advocates for living wages, safe and healthy working conditions and more.
