Our Best Halloween 5K Costume Ideas

Our first ever Halloween 5K benefitting the San Francisco Boys & Girls Clubs is this Saturday! If you haven’t already, stop everything you’re doing (including reading this blog) and sign up! Once you’re signed up, you just have to figure out what costume to wear to the race. Of course, you want a fun costume but you’ll want to be able to run in it too. Here are a few ideas for costumes you could wear during the race:

Runaway Yeti

Okay so maybe this isn’t the most ideal running costume, but it will keep you warm if you’re walking the 5K course. We’re expecting classic San Francisco weather at the Presidio so if you’re not warming up with a run, this costume will keep you cozy in the cold. A YETI Rambler will really drive the point home plus you’ll be able to carry some tasty hot chocolate it in it. Hey, if you’re burning calories while you drink them they don’t count right?

Peter Pan

Fulfill your inner child’s dreams with this costume! These ALO Airlift capris and Vuori Tradewind Performance Tee inspired us the most but as long as you can find green tights and top, you’ll be set to go. All you need is a little red feather to tuck into your hat and you’ll be running flying across the course and off to Neverland.

Rocky Balboa

We’re not saying you should carry a boombox playing "Eye of the Tiger" while you’re running this but we’re not, not saying it. Become the boxing champ with these fun pieces but if running with boxing gloves isn't part of your training, try wearing hand wraps around your arms for a lighter accessory.

Clark Kent

Disguise yourself as a superhero who disguises themselves as a regular person. Just print out a SuperMan logo and pin it to your shirt (make sure it doesn’t cover your race bib!), then throw on this breathable ExOfficio white button up and some glasses. If you get hot you can dramatically rip off your button up and go into superhero mode.

Forrest Gump

Ah, a classic runner’s costume that is guaranteed to get you great “Run Forrest Run!” cheers. Add a beard & wig to really go full costume and we’ll give you bonus points for running with a box of chocolates.
