5 Ways that 2020 Changed SB Forever

1: Outdoors Together was launched.

2020 served as a rallying cry for justice and equality. With the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and too many others, the whole world recognized a need for greater diversity and inclusion. For us, that meant a hard look inwards at our own business, and at the outdoor industry as a whole. We are continually working to execute on our Anti-Racism Action Plan, from our new Resource Grant to our work to increase Diversity and Inclusion in our internal hiring and promotion practices. We've also partnered with new organizations pushing for inclusivity in outdoor spaces, to learn from them and grow together towards a better future.

As part of the sweeping safety measures we implemented this year, we introduced curbside pickup. Nothing could replace seeing your smiling faces in store, but we were happy to keep you moving by ushering slews of bikes, weights, shoes, yoga mats, and everything else during Shelter in Place. All 10 of our stores have been safely open for months now, but we're glad to meet everyone's safety needs by continuing to offer curbside pickup.

3. The Friday Field Guide was born

To keep minds engaged as well as bodies, we launched the Friday Field Guide during the early days of quarantine. Staff submitted their favorite recipes, DIYs, hiking and biking trails, recalled the best trips of years past, to keep us all motivated. Check out our most popular articles below, and update your preferences with your favorite activities to get more Field Guides every Friday!

4. Our staff went digital for virtual appointments

Later on in the year, with our Help Hub team talking with record numbers of customers and an ongoing need to enhance the online shopping process, we decided to step up our game. You can now book a video chat with our Stafflete gear experts to get the intel you need for biking, skiing, and beyond.

5. Virtual classes kept us moving together

Along with everything else this year, our fitness classes got pushed into the digital world. Our amazing yoga and fitness instructors took on the challenge and brought their talents to you over the air. Check out some of our favorite recordings on our YouTube channel, or join us for a class!
