Back for another pair; Hoka don't ever take this away
Back for my 2nd pair. You might put this on and think "meh"- not as stacked as other carbon shoes; perhaps not as soft; perhaps not as sharp on the toe off. Wear it. Run in it. Keep coming back to it. This shoe has your back (and your calves, quads, and feet). It won't let you down. I own a stable o...

Raw Heels :(
I was so excited for the Mach X2 to come out. I don't know if there is a Hoka shoe I have had before this one that I didn't love - for context, I am still wearing Clifton 8's for daily trainers, Mafate Speed 4 for daily trails, Tecton X2 for trail racing, Cielo X1, Rocket X and Rocket X2 for roads, ...

I own a stable of carbon shoes, and there is no other shoe like this one in terms of keeping your stride steady, offering a comfortable, peppy roll, and never rolling you astray. For longer runs, I'll look at my ridiculous stash of carbon shoes and think, "hmm….probably not a good idea with my calf a little stiff. Hmmm…that might cause some havoc with that dodgy knee." I NEVER think that with this shoe. For tempo and intervals, I'll sometimes WANT that "other" peppy shoe; but I'll never truly trust it. After six months of coming back to the Mach X2 time and time again, I'll keep reaching for it. When I'm tired (as in starting a half marathon or marathon in the third leg of a triathlon), this shoes rolls fluidly, springs nicely, and never ever causes pain. Wear socks, tie your shoes, and stop looking at the heel. I've never had a single blister, and I'm wildly blister prone. Hoka, please don't ever take this amazing shoe away from us.
The best
The best ever, would highly recommend. Very comfortable and size fit perfectly.
Re-engineered Mach X to Mach X2 Completely ReMakes Heel
Having been an 8-year customer, I am very disappointed that HOKA engineers decided to make the next Mach X version an irresponsible design that caused many runners/users heel discomfort or injury. The 17 runners I know would much rather have the same design and a superior run of the original Mach X, vs. HOKA engineers just wanting to try something new. Most runners I know who tried the Mach X2 said the shoe didn't feel right, especially in the heel. To make matters worse, 1 day after I received my shoes and knew they didn't fit, I asked to return, was given a UPS label, and tracking shows HOKA received the shoe. One month later, HOKA didn't refund the money. If HOKA received the shoes back, per UPS tracking, the shoes are "returned" and "received" by HOKA. It's been over 4 weeks and no refund. Until HOKA decides to stop drastically changing their shoe designs that now make runners injured, and HOKA decides to refund money when HOKA promptly received the shoes back, I will be using a new Shoe supplier.

3 pairs later and still love them
I tried the Mach X2 on a chance about a year ago and they were exactly what I needed. They have a great push off and are lightweight. They are also pretty and have come out with some good colors.
Had to return
I really wanted to like this shoe. I normally run in Nikes but I always see folks wearing Hokas, and they have some cool color schemes. So, I decided to try them. They look nice but they gave me really bad blisters the first time I wore them. I even tried runnng in them two more times. But it was the same problem. They felt really comfortable but they made my right knee hurt after running, which has never happened to me before. Those things, plus the fact that they stretched out of shape pretty easily, made me decide to return them. Sadly I'm going back to Nike for my running shoes.

Love them
Love how they feel and the coloras are stunning. I am a 7 and I needed a 1/2 size bigger because they run smaller.
Don't like tongue or heel flap
very difficult to put on - i have to hold onto the tongue so it doesn't curl and the heel flap tucks in and i have to pull it out / very difficult for an octogenarian with arthritic fingers
Just know the uppers are see through mess
These feel comfortable but the upper part is see through mesh.
I would not buy this product again
I ran outside 4 miles and on treadmill once. The shoes are too narrow compared to their predecessor.
