Works better than prior version.
I've had this one for over 6 months now I use it quite often averaging 3 times a week or more. I still have the older version in my old Jetboil that I keep in other Jeep. With it you can steam veggies or whatever too. If you used mine it would probably taste like coffee though. Slightly more work c...

Great coffee press
Spent 3 nights on a floating trip made several cups of coffee for myself and friends with no problems.
The french press...
The french press feature is useful if you don't want to make instant coffee.
Definite improvement
A marked improvement over the original Java press. Less grit and better extraction.
Better than Gen 1!
Solid upgrade from the 1st gen coffee press system. The old format used a plastic plunger w/ "fingers" which would let grounds pass through. The silicone seal definitely reduces the amount of grounds getting through. Overall pleased!
Coffee Press Issue
Plunger pushed through press first time I used it. Good idea, cheap components.
Good, could be better.
Needs a protective carrier, store in cup will damage
Broken Press
The press worked great at first but once the press itself was consistently used for a month while in the field, the press pushes right through the lid/press attachment and no longer is able to press the coffee and leaves you with grounds throughout your entire pot. This is unacceptable for it's price point.
Press can't overcome the operator's ineptitude
Well built, high quality press. It's just not great at pressing coffee and trapping the grounds. I went back to using instant coffee. Worth a try tho.
Coffee maker for Jet Boil
this worked great. I used coffee that was grounded to a larger size than a drip coffee maker. Also a different lid for the pot one with a hole in the middle is suggested in the instructions.
