Death Wobble
This box is like wrestling a bear if the 3 side clips on each side come out. Installed this on my Tahoe and two of three pins detached from the lock. Was horrible to set them to be able to open/close it again.

This is my second rooftop Thule cargo box, and we love this one. The size is perfect for everything we need to pack up the SUV with 1/2 the house when going on road trips. With a dog, 2 young children, and 2 parents that overpack for any length trip, we are very happy to have the extra space. Again, the size allows us to still use the sunroof/moonroof, and we love the all black color. The other box we have is the Vector, and while that too has some excellent features, for the price, this was well worth money. Also, believe it or not, we both find this box quieter on the highway than the Vector, and the motion is 3 inches taller and not as aerodynamic looking from a purely aesthetic standpoint. Very happy with the purchase.

Wow. Wow. Wow. On our first (cross-country) trip with the Thule MotionXT L (on top of factory-installed Subaru Outback roof bars), we got caught in extreme, scary, white-out conditions on a desolate part of the I-40 between OKC and Amarillo. The weather forecast had predicted "snow flurries" so we thought "no biggie," but we weren't expecting 50+mph crosswinds and monster gusts! The winds picked up all the snow and blew it across the prairie like a sand storm. Blinding snow and winter tumbleweeds blew across the highway. It was so bad, the tires of semi-trucks were lifting up on one side, as drivers struggled to keep from tipping over. Dozens of high-clearance vehicles were stopped on the shoulder. It was like driving through a white hurricane. Our trusty subaru kept us going, but we were sure the Thule would blow off at some point, or the cross bars would snap, or the cargo box would crack from all the stress of the wacky winds punching us from all sides. We drove in this insane "wind event" for over an hour, but when we arrived in Amarillo, we were shocked to see the Thule was not only still firmly attached, but looked unscathed and as new as the day we bought it. No cracks or stress points whatsoever. We were grateful for how well it stood up everything, and kept our stuff safe and sound. Made it all the way back to the west coast no problem. Looking forward to more adventures!

I bought this a few weeks ago along with Thule wingbar. The box fits easily on the bars, and installation only takes a few minutes. Since making ceiling storage for the box, putting it on the car can be done alone and it super simple with the bar clamp feet on the box. I can still fit my 181 length skis as in the box too, they just don't lay perfectly straight, although I really don't see this being an issue, even with family luggage in there. There is a ton of space, and the box actaully looks pretty small on my Jeep Grand Cherokee L.

Just by looking at some of the modifications made to the product, i can tell thule took note of some of the recurent problems with there boxes. This one looks ready tongo for long….very long.

Thule delivers a 10/10 experience. This fits my 2020 Audi Q5 with ease and provides plenty of clearance for the sunroof and radio fin. The tailgate also opens with ease. The best thing about this product is that it's light as a feather but tough as nails.
