Hop on the Sports Basement Tahoe Ski Bus to Kirkwood without the hassle of planning, driving, or purchasing all that gear and gas. It’s an early start, but what could be better than taking a morning nap, then waking up in snow country, with a full day on the slopes ahead of you? Itineraries by location can be found below.
Please note: due to the resort's restrictions and limitations we are currently not offering discounted lift tickets for Northstar and Kirkwood until further notice. Please contact the resort directly for lift tickets. Thank you for your understanding.
On occasion, bus schedules and pickup locations may be adjusted based on changing demand. In an effort to keep buses running with varying demand, we may move the pickup location for select buses based on need. Affected customers will be notified.

HOW DO I CHANGE OR CANCEL MY RESERVATION?
If it's more than 48 hours prior to the trip, you can do it yourself by clicking the "Manage this booking" link in your trip confirmation email:
- To reschedule to another date, click on the "Change reservation date" button and select another date.
- To cancel your trip, select "Cancel Tickets" to receive a refund of 97% of your purchase price. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 48 hours of the date of the trip. You may reschedule until noon the day prior to your trip.
- Please be aware that due to a high volume of cancellations, we have passed on the cancellation fee of 3%. This is to keep the prices as low as possible for our ski bus customers.
HOW DO I ADD OR REFUND A LIFT TICKET IN AN EXISTING RESERVATION OR CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT STORE PICKUP LOCATION?
The easiest way to do either of these options is to cancel your existing reservation/tickets then create a new reservation for the different store or add the needed tickets. You may also add tickets the morning of your trip with your ski bus host.
- To cancel your trip, click on the "Manage this booking" link in your trip confirmation email, then select "Cancel Tickets". If you'd like to update your trip within 48 hours please contact us at skibus@sportsbasement.com to reschedule your tickets or change your store pickup location.
CAN I TAKE THE SKI BUS ONE WAY?
Yes. Due to the overwhelming demand for the return of the ski bus, in order to take the bus one way you will have to purchase a roundtrip ticket for both your departing day and returning day.
ARE SEASON PASSES STILL AVAILABLE?
Unfortunately, the season passes have been discontinued.

CAN I GET MY RENTAL GEAR PRE-LOADED ONTO THE BUS?
Not currently. Due to staffing constraints, we are no longer able to offer this service. Gear will need to be brought home and then brought to the bus the morning of the departure.
CAN I RENT GEAR THE MORNING OF THE BUS?
Unfortunately, no. The stores will not be open to accommodate last minute rentals. For last minute rentals you can rent from the Kirkwood Rental Shop.
HOW DO I RESERVE RENTAL GEAR FOR THE BUS IF IT IS WITHIN 2 DAYS?
A 2-day lead time is required for online rental reservations; however, you can come into the store the day prior to your bus trip to rent gear in person.
WHAT TIME WILL WE ARRIVE AT KIRKWOOD?
With no traffic or weather conditions it takes 3 hrs from Berkeley, 3 hrs 15 min from Bryant St. and 3 hrs 10 min from Sunnyvale.
WHERE CAN I PARK WHEN I TAKE THE SKI BUS?
After you signup, you will receive an email confirmation of where to park at each pickup location.
HOW DO I BOOK A PRIVATE BUS FOR MY COMPANY, SCHOOL, CHURCH, ORGANIZATION, ETC?
Fill out this Google form and we will get back to you to plan your trip!
DOES THE SKI BUS HAVE BATHROOMS, WIFI, AND ELECTRICAL POWER?
Yep! All of our ski buses come equipped with bathrooms, WiFi, and electric power outlets.
ARE LIFT TICKETS INCLUDED?
Lift tickets for Kirkwood are NOT included, but we offer an exclusive discount when you book your ride with us. Please note that Kirkwood lift ticket sales from our website may cease at noon the day prior to your trip.
IS THERE AN AGE-RESTRICTION?
All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
WHAT IF THE BUS IS FULL?
If you click on the full date that you are interested in, it will automatically give you the option to sign up for the wait list. If spaces open up, you will be sent an automated message. Waitlist spots are first come, first served, so register as soon as you receive the alert.
IS THERE A CUTOFF TIME TO BOOK MY SEAT?
Registration closes at 8 pm the day prior to the trip. There are no refunds given to cancellations made within 48 hours of the purchased trip.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE'S BAD WEATHER?
The safety of our ski bus passengers is our top priority. We will run the bus rain or shine, but if weather conditions don't allow for a safe drive both to and from the mountain, the trip will be cancelled. You'll be given the option of receiving a full refund or rescheduling your trip to a later date.
