In 2003 we outgrew our original store in Mission Bay and opened up our Presidio store in what was once the Army's commissary building. We kept a lot of the original signs - you can still see "Bakery" and "Fish" department signs on the walls, and the space that once held the milk and cheese department is now our community event space (we call it The Dairy). Our Presidio store remains our oldest operational store, and is the home base of our President, Eric. Shelley Berniker, one of our most distinguished SB veterans, is the General Manager of the store and runs day-to-day operations there.

Sports Basement is a hub for local clubs, non-profits, and corporate partners. Our stores, in all their reclaimed glory, transform into whatever our community needs them to be. We serve as meeting halls, call centers, movie theaters, art galleries, yoga studios...we could even be a wedding venue if you want. And you can reserve any of our community spaces at select stores, for free, by clicking the button below - it's as simple as that because being a part of our communities should be the easiest thing in the world.
