I own both xt2 & xt3. XT3 toe box feels slightly narrower.Can't comment if they changed the toe box size or a change of material used that changes the feel of it. I think the xt3 upper and back of shoe is made using more supportive materials. Personally the xt3 is better because it feels more supportive and stable with lateral movement yet comfortable right out of the box.
