An enlarged top pocket is subdivided with stretch and zip pockets for keys, glasses, passport, etc. The weatherproof #10 UltraZip can withstand decades of use thanks to its proprietary abrasion-resistant thread. Great for small enough to serve

I tried several comparable bags, but settled on this one for one-bag travel (w/o camera gear!). I generally need the bag to serve as a work/daily carry at the destination, especially for conferences. I've now used the bag for 5 trips, including a one-bag trip for 2 weeks combining work and pleasur...

Not for a small person

I purchased this bag as an underseat carry-on. I used it during a 3 week trip to Italy where it was also toted on several trains. I would not buy it again. I'm 5'1" tall and have narrow shoulders. This is not the bag for my sized person. First, the good stuff: It's a beautifully made bag; qual...

I bought 2 of these packs for our recent trip to Japan. We were on a tour that required frequent on/off trains & subways. I thought these packs would be the easiest to manage. We liked the sleek design, no bulging outside pockets or dangling straps. We were pleasantly surprised at the holding capacity & the sleek "hidden" storage compartments. HOWEVER, we were very disappointed with the comfort while carrying the packs. I am 5'2" 100lb but have carried a 35/40lb fully loaded camping backpack on the challenging BC Westcoast trail without problems. My husband ended up buying a rolling carry on since his back hurt so much (to be fair he also had a personal sized cross shoulder strap bag). I managed to carry mine the whole trip (as well as my personal sized bag) but often found I had to rest the weight of the backpack while waiting for trains. It was much more comfortable carrying it in front , as we had to do on busy trains, but not a feasible way to consistently & easily carry a 30L backpack. We would receommend a comfortable waist belt to help carry the weight . We did like the way the backstraps tucked tidily away as we used it mostly as a handheld.

Great backpack, but only rain resistant

Great product overall so far, but I'd caution people that it is NOT rain/weather proof. I bike in the rain a lot so tested it in the shower and there was water intrusion into both the quick access pocket and the main compartment. If you're wanting just protection from short sprinkles of rain you should be good though.

Almost the perfect backpack for a digital nomad!

I did a LOT of research looking for the best backpack for work & travel. Love that this has the suitcase-like full zip, lots of space, expandable, place for a laptop, etc. It is practically perfect. The biggest draw back is the weight. Without anything in it, the backpack itself is not exactly lightweight. Would love a lighter model of this. Other than that, super durable and has been a fantastic travel companion.

I love this bag. It is simple, but with a lot of thought and care put into the design. Also, the sage color is beautiful! I don't particularly appreciate using carry-on suitcases. They are cumbersome and annoying. With the 30L Travel Backpack and a small duffel bag, I can get up to a week's worth of travel supplies (maybe more if tried). It works perfectly with the packing cubes. I would make two changes: 1) Increase the size of the outer pocket a little, and 2) put stronger magnets into the external flap. The current outer pocket size works, and I can fit a lot of stuff in there, but just a little more room would be nice. The outer flap is OK to hold the external carry straps, but the magnets don't feel strong enough for me to trust keeping a sweatshirt or light jacket stashed in there. Overall, a great backpack!

Misleading Tablet Pocket

Just received this bag so I'll revise this review based on my experience. First impressions are I like it, but feeling misled about the tablet pocket. I used the bag finder tool, saw that I could fit both my 13" iPad and laptop in the bag, and that it had separate pockets for them. Then I got the bag and it says on the tag it only supports 11", really wish that was somewhere on the product page because it's not under features or specs. The divider pocket for the tablet too is flimsy, I wish it was padded or felt lined.

I bought this 3 weeks ago in person at the San Francisco store. It was my first time in San Francisco and I wore it all over town packed with lots of gear for more than 3 days. It's very comfortable and feels very sturdy. I love the external carry straps, which I used to carry my winter coat and a thick hoodie since the inside was very full including my laptop. I actually like it they there are only two zippers, since I put a lock on both for worry free travel on public transit and crowded areas. Would definitely recommend.

Extremely happy with this bag. Just used it on my first trip. Plenty of room for my computer, notebook and lots of additional storage for clothing, extra pair of shoes, etc. Everything seems high quality, material, zippers, stitching, etc. In hindsight, I should have purchased the packing cubes for it right away. Other than the computer storage pocket and small pouch on top for smaller things, the majority of the packing space is one large space. Not a knock at all, I prefer it, but the packing cubes would keep things organized much better in this space. Great pack!

Travel Backpack 30L Great for the shorter person

Traded my 45L for the 30L and I am happy about it. I am on the shorter side and the 30L looks more proportional on me. What I like about it is that the placement of the top shoulder straps are above my shoulders, not dragging below my shoulders, and more balance on me. Now I don't look like a kid with an oversized backpack.
