First Actual Performance Review
This shoe should have been renamed, as the OG Rocket X was a completely different shoe that I did not get along with. The OG rocket was a lower stack, firmer EVA midsole. This is a higher stack PEBA based midsole with tons of bounce and a nice step-in squish. On the run the rebound is great. I never...

A Perfect Race Shoe That Forgot Its Heel
I run in Hokas almost exclusively, except for road marathons. In the last few years, I've always run in Vaporflys, so I was really excited to try these Rocket X. Everyone has been raving about these, and they aren't wrong. The shoes feel comfortable and provide the bounce at pushoff that helps on ra...

Gave me a baaaad blister the first 2 runs. Medical tap fixed the issue but will return cause I shouldn't have to fix. Might be cause o have small feet and a small amount of the material is not as flexible enough.
Still Felt Strong Turning Left on Boylston
I did one 7.5 mile training run and then ran 129th Boston in them. They were fantastic. No sores, blisters, etc and I felt stronger the further into the race I got. Training obviously played a role in that but this was my 14th Boston and the only time my legs felt strong enough to make the last 1.2 miles my fastest of the day. Thanks Hoka
Unisex is essentially code for narrow
I don't get the unisex sizes offered by Hoka in some of the shoes. It's usually with road shoes intended for speed training or racing. These shoes are too narrow and also have all-around undersizing. Maybe it's a numbers game: Hoka doesn't think there's enough runners out there that want a speed/plate shoe, but have normal to wide feet. Even the idea of unisex is kind of weird - men's and women's feet are different. So go figure. As for the Rocket X 2, too narrow, too small all around, no heel support, a bit flimsy.

Great race shoe!
I recently advanced from long walks and hikes daily to running daily so I am new to running, not a "lifer". And I had been running in Gaviota's and recently advanced to Mach X2 which have been great for my daily workouts. Upon recommendation of a close friend I decided to try the Rockets for races and they are superb! I set a new personal record in my very first race. They are similar enough to the Mach X2 that they feel familiar to my feet get also feel special on my feet and the chip time on my race confirms that they are!
Baffled by the narrowness
I am so confused. Every pair of HOKA's I've purchased has been wide..A generous sock allowing width, which I really appreciate, even though I don't wear socks with my tennis shoes. I find the expanse great because I do have slight bone spurs on both feet. But this pair!? My toes were stacked on top of each other. I even checked the box and inside of the shoe to see if I was accidentally sent the wrong size. No such luck. I was soooo excited for this shoe! Super bummed and returned it today:(

Super fast!
Love my new Rocket X2. Have been running on Rincons for years and they are still my daily trainers, but Rocket X2 are my new race day shoes. Ran the Angry Unicorn Half in Rhode Island and set a new PR!
Love this show
This is the 2nd pair of the Rocket X2 that I've had. The first pair I used to set a 30 minute PR in the marathon. I've been using them on my 20-mile training runs. They feel grest for that after 200 miles. The 2nd pair i bought for an upcoming marathon. I used them recently to set a 2 minute PR in a 5k. They are back in the box until my new marathon. I absolutely love this shoe for long races. I often have pain in the top of my foot. These shoes are so comfortable with no pain even after 26 miles.
