Description
The road, remastered. A tip-of-the-spear product geared for elite runners, the Rocket X 2 has been amplified with a hyper-focus on construction. Hoka remastered the geometry of the propulsive carbon fiber plate, sandwiching it between two layers of a ultra-responsive, high-performance foam. Employing a technical synthetic mesh upper for a foot-hugging fit, this front-of-the-pack shoe enlists a sleek gusset and internal midfoot cage for race-ready lockdown.

First Actual Performance Review
This shoe should have been renamed, as the OG Rocket X was a completely different shoe that I did not get along with. The OG rocket was a lower stack, firmer EVA midsole. This is a higher stack PEBA based midsole with tons of bounce and a nice step-in squish. On the run the rebound is great. I never...

A Perfect Race Shoe That Forgot Its Heel
I run in Hokas almost exclusively, except for road marathons. In the last few years, I've always run in Vaporflys, so I was really excited to try these Rocket X. Everyone has been raving about these, and they aren't wrong. The shoes feel comfortable and provide the bounce at pushoff that helps on ra...

Love this show
This is the 2nd pair of the Rocket X2 that I've had. The first pair I used to set a 30 minute PR in the marathon. I've been using them on my 20-mile training runs. They feel grest for that after 200 miles. The 2nd pair i bought for an upcoming marathon. I used them recently to set a 2 minute PR in a 5k. They are back in the box until my new marathon. I absolutely love this shoe for long races. I often have pain in the top of my foot. These shoes are so comfortable with no pain even after 26 miles.
I love these shoes
I made the mistake of buying the Rocket 2s for my first marathon training and now I cannot wear anything else. I will never train without them.
Why so narrow?
This shoe is cushioned, springy, and fast. I've worn it for a nine-mile workout and it easily shaved off about 15 seconds per mile at same effort compared to Clifton trainers. My biggest complaint is the narrow toe box. Race shoes are supposed to fit like a glove, but not constrict. These are constricting. In addition, the heel material is thin, and it rubs a bit. I got a small blister near my ankle from the first wear.
Masterpiece of a Shoe
This shoe is almost too perfect. Feels great and handles very well. Great for paces 6:00 and under. Almost don't want to put miles on these shoes because they are so great.
I would but this shoe again
This shoe feel similar to my mach 6, only faster. Size women 10, so unisex 9/10
Hoka keeps surprising me with the comfort!
I have in the past found a little "discomfort" with certain pairs, but I feel now recently I am finding my "feet" with my new pairs. I have inserts which fit easily and make the comfort even more surprising.
Bounce bounce bounce
The level of cushion along with the responsiveness of the carbon makes these shoes unbeatable. I'm running faster with far less effort than my Cliftons and Rincons!
Definitely would purchase again!
I've owned many shoes before. From Adidas Boston 12s to Alphaflys next %, Saucony endorphin speed 2, and vapor fly 2s. These are definitely a competitor as the best racing/speed shoes I've had. It's not as propulsive as the first Alphaflys, but they definitely give you that fast turnover and energy return; to be completely honest, there's not a huge difference between the two. Additionally, these definitely help keep me linear and from pronating. Lastly, I've tried on multiple different running shoes and tested them out as well and it was hard to tell the difference between the following and the Rocket X2 (Adidas Pro 3, Saucony Elite 3, vaporfly 3). Also--My piece of advice to all the people out there: do not trust the running influencers out there. Find what fits you. No shoe's going to solve your problems. Trust yourself and your training plan to meet the end state.
Noticeable pace difference, will purchase again
Use them for racing. Extremely comfortable. Noticeable improvement in pacing with the carbon plate. Will buy again!
Awesome shoe, great for faster paced workouts and racing.
Felt very bouncy but didn't make my legs feel fatigued after like other carbon plated racing shoes. Felt very absorbing but also springy leaving less shock on my legs but still felt that energy coming back. 10/10 would recommend to anyone considering
