Description

Hop on the Sports Basement Tahoe Ski Bus to Palisades Tahoe without the hassle of planning, driving, or purchasing all that gear, après drinks, and gas. It’s an early start, but what could be better than taking a morning nap, then waking up in snow country, with a full day on the slopes ahead of you? Itineraries by location can be found below.
 

Discounted lift tickets can be purchased through a link in your confirmation email after signup. Lift tickets are available as follows:

Spring pricing, starting April 7th:

If you plan to attend a ski or snowboarding lesson at the resort, please be advised that we recommend you book an afternoon lesson in oppose to a morning lesson. A lesson package is available for afternoon at a discounted rate through the ticket link.

A note from Sports Basement: The pandemic continues to impact our staffing and operations. As a result, a few of the most labor intensive features of our bus have been reduced or eliminated such as the pre-loaded rental gear option.

On occasion, bus schedules and pickup locations may be adjusted based on changing demand. In an effort to keep buses running with varying demand, we may move the pickup location for select buses based on need. Affected customers will be notified.

Itinerary

Please DO NOT BE LATE. Bus departures to and from the resort CANNOT be delayed, due to bus driver safety regulations - buses will depart from the resort at at 4:15pm.

  • 5:00 AM: BUSES DEPART FROM BRYANT ST., PRESIDIO, STONESTOWN, BERKELEY, WALNUT CREEK, REDWOOD CITY, SUNNYVALE, CAMPBELL.
  • 5:25 AM: BUSES DEPART FROM WALNUT CREEK AND NOVATO.
  • 3:30 PM: BUS ACCESS** AND SPORTS BASEMENT HOSTED APRES-SKI BEGINS 
  • 4:15 PM: BUSES DEPART FROM PALISADES TAHOE.

*All times are traffic and weather dependent.

**Personal gear can be left on the bus, but will not be accessible 9:30am - 3:30pm.

Sports Basement Outdoors Cancellation Policy

We look forward to sharing an amazing adventure together. While we make every effort to run our scheduled trips, our current climate reality means that some trips may not be safe to run due to circumstances beyond our control. In these instances, a trip credit equal to the full amount paid will be issued. If participants are unable to reschedule to another date, a full refund will be provided.

Cancellations for the Tahoe Ski Bus must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled departure time in order to receive a refund of 97%. After that, refunds will not be given, but we will accommodate rescheduling of reservations up until noon the day before the trip.

For all overnight trips or multiple day courses, client cancellations outside of 30 days receive full refunds. Within 30 days, you may only reschedule to another date. If the reschedule is requested within 7 days of the trip, each participant is subject to an additional change fee that is equal to 50% of the original trip cost (i.e. if your trip is $795, the fee would be $397.50 to reschedule). With guides in the field prior to trips and often poor connectivity, we may not be able to accommodate client reschedules or cancellations within 24 hours of the starting time. Gift certificates are non-refundable but may be used towards any trip offering.

If it's more than 48 hours prior to the trip, you can do it yourself by clicking the "Manage this booking" link in your trip confirmation email:

  • To reschedule to another date, click on the "Change reservation date" button and select another date.
  • To cancel your trip, select "Cancel Tickets" to receive a refund of 97% of your purchase price. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 48 hours of the date of the trip. You may reschedule until noon the day prior to your trip.
  • Please be aware that due to a high volume of cancellations, we have passed on the cancellation fee of 3%. This is to keep the prices as low as possible for our ski bus customers.

The easiest way to do either of these options is to cancel your existing reservation/tickets then create a new reservation for the different store or add the needed tickets. You may also add tickets the morning of your trip with your ski bus host.

  • To cancel your trip, click on the "Manage this booking" link in your trip confirmation email, then select "Cancel Tickets". If you'd like to update your trip within 48 hours please contact us at skibus@sportsbasement.com to reschedule your tickets or change your store pickup location.

Yes. Due to the overwhelming demand for the return of the ski bus, in order to take the bus one way you will have to purchase a roundtrip ticket for both your departing day and returning day.

Unfortunately, the season passes have been discontinued.

Not currently. Due to staffing constraints, we are no longer able to offer this service. Gear will need to be brought home and then brought to the bus the morning of the departure.

Unfortunately, no. The stores will not be open to accommodate last minute rentals. For last minute rentals you can rent from the Palisades Tahoe Rental Shop in The Village.

A 2-day lead time is required for online rental reservations; however, you can come into the store the day prior to your bus trip to rent gear in person. 

With no traffic or weather conditions it takes 2 hrs 50 mins from Walnut Creek, 3 hrs from Bryant St. and 3 hrs 25 min from Sunnyvale.

After you signup, you will receive an email confirmation of where to park at each pickup location.

Yep! All of our ski buses come equipped with bathrooms and electric power outlets.

Some say the Sports Basement Apres-Ski is the best part of the day so bring your favorite apres-ski outfit and enjoy a selection of beverages that include beer, hop water, sparkling water, iced coffee, energy drinks, and more.

Lift tickets for Palisades Tahoe are NOT included, but we offer an exclusive discount when you book your ride with us.

All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

If you click on the full date that you are interested in, it will automatically give you the option to sign up for the wait list. If spaces open up, you will be sent an automated message. Waitlist spots are first come, first served, so register as soon as you receive the alert.

Registration closes at 8 pm the day prior to the trip. There are no refunds given to cancellations made within 48 hours of the purchased trip.

The safety of our ski bus passengers is our top priority. We will run the bus rain or shine, but if weather conditions don't allow for a safe drive both to and from the mountain, the trip will be cancelled. You'll be given the option of receiving a full refund or rescheduling your trip to a later date.
