Description

A rugged trail contender that performs expertly on technical terrain, the Mafate returns for its third iteration, featuring a sustainable mesh upper made from recycled polyester. Engineered with KPU molded overlays for protective support, the Mafate Speed 3 is grounded in the same aggressive, dual-density outsole comprised of EVA and rubberised EVA with Vibram 5mm lugs. Designed with a dynamic, textile tongue for stretchy, foot-hugging comfort, this trail beast is equipped with a breathable, perforated section at the tongue and fortified with H-frame construction at the eyerow for a customised fit. When the trail gets technical, the Mafate Speed 3 steps up to handle what nature puts in your path.

COMPARATIVE REVIEW, MAFATE SPEED 3 VS. SPEEDGOAT 4

I like comparative reviews, so here I'll compare the Mafate Speed 3 (MS3) to the Speedgoat 4 (SG4). I use these for running and hiking on steep/technical/off-camber terrain. The surface is typical of So Cal trails: Rock (incl. conglomerate) and baked clay covered by a thin layer of dust, sand and gr...

Decent Shoes. Trouble With Upper

I've got probably 40 miles in these shoes so far. All of them have been on steep rock/gravel roads. The outsole is super rugged and has great traction. Vibram mega grip never disappoints. The midsole I would describe as dense. The shoes are really stiff so far which is great for hill climbing. In a ...

Very comfortable walking shoes

Not only are these shoes, attractive looking, but they are comfortable too. Traction is amazing and grip the surface as you're walking I tend to walk on grass but then that turns into pavement and the comfort level never diminishes. I feel that this is an excellent purchase to suit my needs and we recommend this shoe to anybody.

Hokas have never hurt my feet, but these particular pair are agitating

Bothered feet is not our thing! Let's trade these in for the new Tecton X 2. Light, breathable, and hydrophobic, the Tecton X 2's high-contrast Matryx® upper enlists a lay-flat gusseted tongue to help mitigate trail debris. Take them for a spin and see what you think: bit.ly/HOKA30Day. To start an exchange, click here: bit.ly/HOKAEXRT.

I bought these for my husband, they are his 6th pair. Needless to say he loves Hokas. He had surgery on one foot for a neuroma which has been giving him pain for a long time. He is able to wear his Hokas without pain. They do run a bit small so I buy a half size bigger.

The fit and feel is average whereas my previous Hokas were a five star. They had woven- like shoe laces. The laces on this model could not have been cheaper than any shoe I've owned.

Size too small. Returned. Receive in exchange a pair Ugg slides instead of Hokas. Sent second exchange to wrong address.

I have been using the Mafate line since it first came out. It is my favorite shoe except for the Clifton 1. This Speed 3 is too narrow. If you hold it up to the Evo Mafate 2 you can see it's not as wide. That Evo Mafate 2 was a great shoe.
