Description
In its fourth edition, the Mach 4 takes its biggest leap forward, built on themes inspired by the Rocket X and Carbon X. Designed for logging long miles, this everyday trainer delivers a lively ride and energetic underfoot feel that is unquestionably HOKA. Softer and bouncier than the previous iteration, the Mach 4 employs a harmonious blend of foams — merging an incredibly soft, lightweight foam on top with rubberized foam directly beneath. This up-tempo shoe has been crafted with a new pull tab, revamped upper made from heat pressed TPU embroidered yarns, and a refined collar shape that alleviates pressure on the Achilles. Light, fast and unquestionably responsive, the Mach 4 delivers a daily dose of speed.

Great all-rounder that excels at easy paces and long runs
Bottom line: if you only want to buy one pair of running shoes to do everything, these are the ones. This is my first pair of Hokas. I bought these as easy day shoes to accompany Saucony Endorphin Speeds and New Balance Fuel Cell RC Elite v2s for this training cycle. Initially I thought I would onl...

Tweener: no clear spot in my rotation
I really wanted to like this shoe more than I did. The tongue lockdown is great (recalls the EVO Speedgoat). The shoe is lightweight. The upper reminded me of the New Balance Beacon but with a better midsole underfoot. The midsole hits a sweet spot between the Clifton's soft cushion and the Rincon's...

I would buy this product again.
I mainly use this product for my daily workouts in the gym.
Nice shoe but the lacks the quality of my other Hoka's
I have wore the shoes about 20 times and the interior back is already starting to deteriorate. The quality of the material on these shoes is not meeting the mark.
Didn't expect to like these shoes this much.
I am very happy with these shoes. I ordered the shoes 1/2 size larger than usual and they fit perfectly. I run on a treadmill with these and couldn't be happier. One caveat - I am colorblind and didn't realize the shoes were mint green. It would have been nice to have a better color description than Blue Glass/Evening Primrose... because I don't know what color Evening Primrose is. However, this does not change the function of the shoe, which is fantastic.
Would not recommend, not for everyday athletes!
My 17 year old son purchased these Machs on his State Championship T & F trip, with his own money he had been saving and wanting them so bad. After 4 months and only 4 months of year, he was in PE at school and the entire class witnessed the side of his shoe bust out, do to his large foot he had to wear until we could get another pair shipped. This was mortifying, we have purchased all brands in 17 years and this is one of the least durable ever. It's actually sad too because he actually loved the shoe and comfort for the 4 months it lasted!

Surprised
These shoes were a bit firmer than I was expecting. I like my other pair which are Clifton's. I ordered directly from Hoka and was surprised when I opened the box as the wrong color was sent. I didn't bother sending them back due to the inconvenience.
Bottom's wear down soo quickly!
They are very comfortable, but the treads wear down faster than any other running shoes I have ever owned - nike, asics, saucony, etc. I'm surprised and disappointed. I hope Hoka have addressed this in subsequent products. I've even taken care to baby and save these primarily for running.
They're OK
They're okay. Not the greatest shoes I've ever had. If you walk on the outsides of your feet, then they aren't for you. Honestly, I wish I'd returned them when I had the chance, but I kept thinking they'd get more comfortable... I'm glad I bought them at a relatively low price. This is the first time I've bought Hoka and will most likely he the only time.
Good shoe. average miles
It is a good show. You will get average miles out of it. Soft bottoms will be smooth by 400 miles
