Description

The daily driver of their MTB line, the 2-in-1 Dirt Craft Bike Shorts are easy-wearing on the trail, in the bar, or at the coffee shop in between; they’ve also upgraded the included removable liner to a premium, 3-D engineered Italian chamois, with near-transparent mesh panels on the legs for wide-open ventilation. The two redesigned drop-in front pockets hold normal-life necessities and lay flat when you’re bent over, as does the re-tailored adjustable waistband, while a zippered thigh pocket keeps your phone secure and close to hand. The stretchy, sturdy over short now also has a longer 11” inseam, to better cover the tops of most kneepads and add a little protection from scuffed knees. Snap the over short and included low-profile, removable padded liner together with built-in waist loops, or wear them separately; all Patagonia MTB bottoms are designed for easy integration.

  • Inseam: 11.5"
  • Relaxed leg opening covers the tops of most kneepads
  • Outer shorts built with stretchy nylon/spandex plain weave with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish for plenty of breathability and airflow on warmer rides
  • With a 3D engineered, cush-yet-low-profile chamois pad, the removable liner shorts have near-transparent mesh panels for wide-open, off-road-only ventilation
  • Curved waistband follows the natural shape of the hips and allows room to move; low-profile, external hook-and-webbing waist adjustment for a fine-tuned fit
  • Waist snap loops allow for easy integration with any other Patagonia MTB over short or liner short
  • Two drop-in front pockets for a traditional aesthetic, one secure zipper pocket at left hip, and reflective logo at left hem and right-back hip
  • Outer shorts: 4.2-oz 95% nylon (65% recycled)/5% spandex stretch plain weave with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.
  • Liner: 5.2-oz 72% polyester/28% spandex stretch interlock knit.
  • Fair Trade Certified sewn
  • Weight: 329 g (11.6 oz)

Perfect fit. Comfortable. Got these on sale and worth every penny. Only wish SB would carry more XXL and 40 waist for large dudes like we.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Order a size larger, be sure the inner liner also fits.

Must say the Patagonia mtb selection for men is overall a fail. Avoid unless desperate. The first purchase was Dirt Roamer shorts. The seams blew open and the "adjustable" waist band is a joke and does not stay tight. The shorts literally failed. Avoid those. With the $99 credit from Patagonia plus another $60 out of pocket, got the Dirt Craft which are indeed more durable, but they add a liner, which jacks up the price, and the liner constantly rides up your thigh because there is no elastic knee band to hold them in place and its too short to begin with. So you pay an extra $50-60 for a USELESS piece of kit, not to mention you probably own several pairs of much better cycling shorts / bibs already. Patagonia designers clearly don't ride or they just like pulling on their liners every five minutes while trying to hold the handlebars. SO disappointed. Assign the product to a new team please! If darn near every good short by other makers wasn't sold out, I would not be going back to Patagonia. The larger inner liner on my new pair hopefully stays in place.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Worst Bike Shorts I've Ever Worn

I honestly wish I had never bought these shorts. The outer short is okay but the liner short is terrible. I can't imagine any short costing this kind of money having basic short comings like no silicon grippers around the legs to prevent them from sliding up and bunching up in the crotch, which makes them horribly uncomfortable. The chamois design is also terrible, seems like it was designed for the female anatomy. It's also the tightest liner short for it's size I have ever experiences. If you decide to try these, definitely go up a size from what you normally wear, but honestly, save you money and buy Fox, a much better short for less money.
