I bought these Hoya running shoes in an LL Bean store. I workout everyday and needed a running shoe that was comfortable and supported me during my workout. These shoes are excellent and I would highly recommend them.

Tread coming off

After three months of use (not particularly heave), the tread on the left front of the right shoe is coming off. This should not happen.

Clifton 9 hurts medial arch

Don't buy these if you are prone to plantar pain. I have a very high arch and this still presses to much on my medial arch. I tried them on in the store and wore/walked for a good 15 minutes and they felt great. After a week of break in they started causing pain in my medial arch. I tried two different types of insole, one was fit for my arch and this shoe presses it higher, lower arch support don't help either. I reached out to HOKA chat and asked for assistance and I was told there is no advice or anything they could do since I had wore the shoes for a week. I know your gonna say they have a 30 day return, but my break in was a few hours a day for two weeks, then every day after that and that is when the pain started. Since this was my first experience with HOKA, I will most likely move on and not buy another HOKA pair again.

I went into a local Hoka dealer and tried on some shoes that felt amazing. They didn't have any colors that I was interested in so ordered the color I wanted through the company website. I received my shoes and that same day I laced them up and went for a run. I had issues with my right shoes immediately upon my run I noticed my right foot looked a bit awkward and would focus my ankle to turn inward. Throughout my job i continuously felt pain on my leg and noticed the company. I returned the shoes but now unsure if I want to order another pair . I was hoping to take the shoes with me when I leave to the federal law enforcement training center in a week.

I didn't learn about HOKA shoes until August 2024. Since then I have bought and wear regularly nine (9) different models of HOKAs. My most favorite model is the Clifton 9. I have five (5) pairs. I know the Clifton 10s are now out, but since I really liked the 9s, I wanted to be sure I had them in different colors. I will probably buy a pair of 10s eventually. I love the 9s and wear them as my go-to sneaker for everyday wear and use. I have gotten my partner wearing them also. He says that the 9s are the only shoe he can wear without his feet hurting. He doesn't even use his orthotics when he wears his Cliftons. I normally wear a size 10, but in the Cliftons I wear a 10.5 for more length for my slightly longer right foot. The Cliftons fit snug but not tight and are very comfortable for all day wear. They wear and fit different from any other shoe you have in a nice way. Read about the different models to determine which one you like best. BTW, I recommend you join the HOKA club via email especially if you're new to HOKA. That way if you don't like your first pick, you can send them back even after trying them out.
