Description
The GT-2000™ 12 shoe is a versatile stability trainer that's functional for various distances. Asics reimagined this workhorse running style with less weight and a smoother heel-to-toe transition. The midsole is updated with a full-length FF BLAST™ PLUS cushioning unit and PureGEL™ technology. These features help provide a more energized toe-off with cloud-like softness underfoot. Meanwhile, the 3D GUIDANCE SYSTEM™ consists of wider basenets and an increased heel bevel and forefoot flare. As a result, you'll experience a silky-smooth transition from footstrike to toe-off.

Asics - not what they used to be.
I have worn Asics for over 40 years. Shoes keep getting cheaper. The GT-2000 - 11 and -12 series life span is significantly lower than the - 9s due to really cheap foam. I am looking for a new brand of shoe.
Toe box too narrow
The toe box tapers down so that it is too narrow. I wish that ASICS had not changed the toe box design. The last one that I had that fit well was the model 9.
May not work if you have a high volume foot.
Toe box is fine. Overall volume is tight. I need to loosen the laces to accommodate my foot volume. That makes it difficult to use the last set of eyelets to lock down my heel. More volume or longer laces would help. The construction of the shoe appears solid and after 30 miles there isn't any visible wear on uppers or sole. Plenty of cushioning and stability for walking.
40 years of performance
I've been running for about 40 years now and I've always had extremely good performance with Asics Trainers/Runners. I get about 400 miles out of each pair and that's impressive.
Great shoes
Very comfortable, the shoe has great bounce and feels great.. it's my new everyday wear shoes.
Comfortable all day shoe
Very comfortable, lightweight, black on black shoe. Used with custom orthotics for a all day casual work shoe.
Running shoes
I've got nothing but asics shoes for my workouts and it's been that way for the last 10yrs
Great Light Weight Running Shoes
good light weight shoes with nice fitting. I love them.

While the shoe continues its improvements from season to season, one "improvement" is NOT appreciated. The tongue on this shoe is a vast departure from standard cushioned tongues and has been replaced with a very thin tongue with the tiniest bit of engineered cushioning. This consistently causes irritation, to the point of feeling bruised. I hope this experiement in refining the shoe and shaving off fractions of an ounce at the expense of comfort over long distances is abandoned.
