How’s everyone doing? Hanging in there? Good! As we continue to adapt to shelter-in-place life, we are all making tough changes. Many of us have been asked to work from home which has required some significant altercations to our daily processes. However, there are many people in our community who are unable to work from home such as those in the hospitality and food industry, which includes our superb local craft beer industry.

At Sports Basement we are big suds-heads (as evidenced by our poppin’ annual BrewFest events). On the surface, being able to sip on a cold one may not seem essential (although it certainly seems pretty essential to someone like me), but I’ve got a great way, and a fun one at that, to support our neighbors in a true win-win situation.

The Bay Area has some amazing craft breweries run by regular people like yourself. These are your neighbors, friends, little league coaches, etc., pursuing their dreams despite the uphill battle it takes to start and succeed in the food and drink business. These craft brewery owners and their employees need our help! Their livelihoods depend on the people’s love of exquisite IPAs, Stouts, Porters and Sours here in the Bay Area.

One brewery in particular that I would like to highlight is Pond Farm Brewing Company in San Rafael. Not only were they our People’s Choice winner at BrewFest Novato 2019, but they are doing everything they can to support their staff by offering hours, giving them 100% of tips from pick-up beer sales and have even created a GoFundMe to help their staff out.

Some breweries are offering to-go growlers and cans during limited hours, while others have gone so far as to offer online orders and delivery.
