There are two route options each day: The short route is 42 miles on Day 1, 34 miles on Day 2. The long route is 65 miles on Day 1, 43 miles on Day 2. Terrain is generally flat and rolling, with a handful of significant climbs throughout the route. We recommend doing training rides prior to your trip. Vehicular support does allow for rest or adjustment of mileage if distance proves too challenging. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian participating on the trip and are subject to manager approval.

Description

Join us for a fully supported, 2-day cycling tour of some of the most scenic Bay Area roads with our expert cycling guides. Whether you are fairly new to cycling or a veteran, there is something for everyone. Multiple distance options, full vehicular SAG (snacks and gear) support, a beautiful campground, and delicious meals make this an unique opportunity to cycle in style and see all the North Bay has to offer. Highlights include: biking the Golden Gate Bridge, a quick tour through Sausalito, beautiful country roads, Point Reyes seashore, and more!

New this season, we have partnered up with Wahoo Fitness to offer our Pt. Reyes cyclists the opportunity to demo the new ELEMNT ROAM V2 cycling computer. Wahoo’s most powerful and accurate GPS cycling computer to date. ELEMNT ROAM is packed with features that turn any ride into an adventure. It delivers advanced accuracy and powerful on-device smart navigation features through dual-band GPS technology. Riders will have the opportunity to reserve a device ahead of time.

Itinerary

Although we'll always do our best to adhere to this schedule, it is often dictated by factors outside of our control and is therefore subject to change. We will run this trip rain or shine as long as it is safe to do so.

Day 1 - Saturday
  • 9 am: Meet at the Sports Basement Presidio store parking lot Fruit provided pre-ride
  • 9:30 am: Guide introductions, safety meeting, and ride preparation
  • 10 am: All riders depart (42 mile with ~2,000 feet of elevation gain Short Route, 65 mile with ~4,000 feet of elevation gain Long Route)
  • Energy gel, energy chews, and bars provided on ride
  • 1 pm: Lunch rest stop with organic sandwiches from Good Earth and beverages such as Hint Water, GURU Energy Drinks, and coconut water
  • 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm: Riders arrive at the Olema Campground
  • Time to set-up tents, shower, relax, imbibe on adult beverages if 21+ (beer, hard cider, hard seltzer) and Non-Alcoholic Beer from Best Day Brewing.
  • 6:30 pm: Dinner with vegan chili, veggie stir-fry, drumsticks, quinoa, and salad
  • Dessert, campfire, brain teasers, and more!
  • 10 pm: Lights out

Day 2 - Sunday
  • 6:30 am: Coffee and tea ready
  • 7 am: Breakfast with fruit, eggs, potatoes, and sausage (the fixings for a breakfast burrito if desired)
  • 8:45 am: Rider meeting (everyone packed)
  • Energy gel, energy chews, and bars provided on ride
  • 9 am: All riders depart (34 mile with ~1,700 feet of elevation gain Short Route, 43 mile with ~4,400 feet of elevation gain Long Route)
  • 11:30 am: Lunch rest stop with organic sandwiches from Good Earth and beverages such as Hint Water, GURU Energy Drinks, and coconut water
  • 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Riders return to the Sports Basement Presidio store
