Rental FAQ

Can I make rental reservations ahead of time?

Reservations must be made online, we can not reserve gear over the phone. 
(exception: if you are renting for a group of 10 or more, call (800) 869-6670)

Reservations should be made at least 2 days in advance for camping and snow gear, 1 day for bikes.  This allows us to transfer gear as needed to make sure we have exactly what you want.
Can I come into the store for a same day rental without any reservation?

We stock plenty of gear, so same day, walk in rentals are always welcome, but are limited to stock on hand; first come, first served.

If I made a reservation, can I pick up my items early?

We know you want to hit the road early, so camping gear and bikes may be picked up between 6 - 9 pm the night before your first day of use at no additional charge.

Can I send someone else to pick up my reservation?
Yes, someone else can pick up your reservation! Just forward them a copy of your email confirmation. Whoever picks up the reservation must have a copy of the rental email confirmation.

For Ski and Snowboard rentals we require a signed waiver & release of liability for all adult renters. Parent/guardians must sign for minors. It is also a good idea for renters to be present to confirm sizing of winter sports equipment.
Can I return my rental to a different Sports Basement than where I picked it up from?

You are always welcome to return your gear to any Sports Basement location, you do not have to bring it back to the same store.

What is the cancellation policy for reservations?

Cancellations with at least 48 hours advance notice will be refunded in full. Cancellations requested within less than 48 hours of your pickup date/time will be credited in full for a future rental.

What happens if I return my rental late?

Late rentals will be charged the single day rate for each day beyond the original due date.

Are you having trouble completing your online reservation?

The most common issue is an incorrect billing address on the order. Please confirm you have entered the correct billing zip code and try again. If you are still having issues, please call us at (800) 869-6670
